教学目标:

4、学生能体会空降消防员这一职业的特殊性、危险性与困难性,
提升消防意识,增强责任感。
简要步骤:
一、Greeting and introduce. Try to guess who I am.

book about the smoke jumpers. Show the cover and introduce. Do you
have any questions? Who is smoke jumper? Guess first and then watch

1. Read page 2-3 together. This is a big fire, Let’s feel it
first. It’s horrible. Where is the fire? What will happen? Why we
need smoke jumpers? (Who can

2. How do they get to the fire? Read page 4-11 and answer.
They go in a plane. They will go fast. It is a big fire, do you
want to get to the fire? Do the smoke jumpers want to get to the
fire? No but they have to. Solve “have to” . Although they are fire
fighters, they look different. (the

3. Where can the smoke jumpers land? Why? Discuss in
groups.(dangerous difficult)
4. What do they take with? Why? If you are the smoke jumpers,
what will you take? Why? Gloves, water, map,
intercom and so on, then talk about the reasons. The bag will be
very heavy.
5.Now, you all know how do they get to the fire to help,
let’s get to the fire with them together.(Part review step by
step)
6. Look at the flame. What do you feel? What do they have to
do? How? Watch a video. How do you think of this job?(dangerous

7. What day is it? Monday. The fire is big. Tuesday, the fire
is smaller, Wednesday, the fire is smaller. Day by day, the fire is
out on Thursday. How many days do they take? Can they go home
during the four days? They can’t sleep in the bed, have a rest,
take a bath, or even have a comfortable meal. Now, the fire is out,
