Kun Opera/昆曲 was formed over 600 years ago
in China and had been very
popular especially
during the
Ming and Qing Dynasties so that it
has
been
called the mother of all other operas
in China. What's more, it was listed one of the first world
intangible cultural heritages by UNESCO in 2001 because of its
treasure of art.
Kun Opera looks so beautiful including voice, make-up, dress, music
and performance. It's perfect matching if Kun Opera is performed in
the classical gardens, so some people
appreciate Kun Opera
is the flowing garden and the garden is the static Kun Opera.
Kun Opera is being
more prosperous with
the
development of blooming
tourism
industry.
Tourists have
more options to
watch Kun Oprea in
Suzhou nowadays. In my opinion, the Institution of Kun Opera/昆曲传习所
is the best choice to enjoy it at nights.
The Humble Administrator's Garden is also
prompting Kun
Opera and it
performs
twice times (10:00 am/14:00 pm)
in a day and 7 days in a week,
1 hour for each time.
Tourists
can
watch a short dramatic
performance of Kun Oprea in the Master-of-Nets Garden at
nights from late March to November every day in a year.
Last but not least,
more and more
young people would
like to watch Kun Opera at the tea house at Pingjiang road, where
famous teacher
Lv performs twice everyday.
