On November 3, 1987, the Paris head office of Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization of The United Nation awarded Yuan with a Science Prize hailing his scientific accomplishment as “The Second Green Revolution”.
2004年，袁隆平获得世界粮食奖(the World Food Prize)，表彰他为人类提供营养丰富、数量充足的粮食所做出的突出贡献。
In 2004, Yuan received the World Food Prize in recognition of his remarkable contribution to provide world’s population with nutrient and abundant supply of food staples.
