Step One. Warming
up
|
|
1. Sing an English song with
body language.
2. Use the PPT to show s.s the pictures of food
quickly, ask the students to say out. (rice, eggs, noodles, fish
and so on).
3. Teacher asks s.s with “Do you like…? Yes, I do.\ No, I
don’t.” And then ask and answer in pairs.
Purpose: To arouse students’ interest by sing an English
song and ask in pairs.

Step Two.
Presentation
|
|
1. Play the CD-ROM of the
activity one, ask s.s to listen to the story for the first time.
Daming is eating dinner, but a dog named Bob looks the food. Daming
asks the dog if it eats rice or noodles, but Bob likes
meat.
2. After listening, teacher teaches the new word: want. Then
practice the structure “Do you want…?”
3. Teacher lets s.s. read the dialogue in pairs and act the
story.
Purpose: To make preparations for the next
dialogue.

Step Three.
Presentation of the Task. Teaching the New Lesson

1. Teacher shows the picture of
noodles to lead the new word “chopsticks”. The pronunciation of
this word is hard for s.s. So teacher pays attention to its
pronunciation. Then lead another word “use”.
2. Teacher writes “use chopsticks” on the board. Then add “Do
you …?” on the board. Then practice this sentence in
pairs.
3. Amy and Daming are in the park. They want to eat noodles.
Watch the CD-ROM, then answer the question: Does Amy use chopsticks
in the UK?
4. Now Amy is using chopsticks. Watch again, and then answer
the next question: Are the chopsticks “easy” or “hard” for her?
Write the new words “easy”“hard” on the board. Chopsticks are hard
for English people. So Amy makes the mess.
5. Listen the dialogue again and find the sentences: Do you…?
Then circle them.
Purpose: To present the target sentences step by step so
that the students can understand the story and structure
better.

Step Four.
Practice
|
|
1. According to the dialogue,
let s.s fill the blanks.
In China, we use______. In the UK, people
use______.
Chopsticks are _____ for Chinese people. They are ______ for
English people.
2. Teacher makes a chant about the story.
Do you use chopsticks? Yes, I do. Yes, I do.
We use chopsticks in China.
They’re easy for us.
Then students make another chant according to the
dialogue.
Purpose: To practice the structure and
words.

Step Five. Summary
and Homework
|

基础作业:listen and read point the dialogue 5
times.
2.
拓展、实践作业:制作购物清单。当小小售货员,问同学或朋友是否想要某个东西。Do a survey
about their favorite foods with “Do you want…?”
运用本课所学句型调查一下你的同学都喜欢什么食物并进行报告。
Purpose: To help s.s go over and consolidate what they
learned by completing homework after class.
