Step1 Warming up and leading in
大拆大建
1. Show a picture, and draw students' attention to the topic of this module. And organize them to brainstorm about the change in Wenzhou.
T: What has changed in the past two years?
Let's have a discussion.
(house, road ...)
Many old houses were pulled down.
There will be more tall buildings.
Step 2 Describing pictures
1. Talk about the picture in Actiity1, and ask the students to say what life was like in the early 1980s and what life is like today. There was/ were...
But nowadays, there is/ are more/fewer/less/...
2. What do you think of the life now and then?
Ss: I think life now is better/... than that in the past.
Step 3 Listening
T: What do Betty and Daming think of the life now and then?
Let’s listen to their conversation.
1. Play the record for Activity 2 and ask students to answer the questions given.

2. Add some other questions to help students get more details about these wonders.
T: Does Daming think life is safer today? Why does he think so?
Step 3 Repeat
Repeat the conversation, and ask the students to pay attention to the comparative forms.
