该规范对“现场签证”的含义做了这样的解释：
发包人现场代表（或其授权的监理人、工程造价咨询人）与承包人现场代表就施工过程中涉及的责任事件所作的签认证明。
The signed certificates, which in respect of incidents of liability involved in the construction process, made by the employer's site representative (or its authorised supervisor or project cost consultant) and the contractor's site representative.
另外，在其他工程文件中也有这样表达的：signed certificates 或 confirmation signed
签证的月进度付款证书
the signed certificates of monthly payment confirmation
监理人签证的月进度付款证书
the certificates of monthly payment confirmation signed by the supervisor
