A Verse by Li Bai

(The Taoist of Mt. Daitian is Away When I Call on)

The barking of dogs the clear creeks resound,

A pearly-dewy peach petals surround.

At times, deep in trees I spot springing deer,

Creekside, no noon-tolling reaches mine ear.

The bamboos pierce the brume into the blue,

The flying falls drape the green alp in view.

To where the Taoist hath roamed none could know,

Leaning on the pines, I tell them my woe.
