在中国, 六一国际儿童节热热闹闹,是孩子们的大节日。在美国,大家风风火火庆祝母亲节和父亲节,却从没听人提起过儿童节。是不是很奇怪呢?

我的解释:在中国,孝敬父母是天道,父母天天得到尊重和礼待,所以没有了设置母亲节和父亲节的必要。在美国,所谓“儿童的天堂”,孩子们随时随地得到各种各样的呵护和照顾,也就失去了庆祝儿童节的实际意义。是不是歪理啊?哈哈。

没敢告诉儿女们中国在六一庆祝儿童节,怕他们开口向我要礼物(看这妈当的)。不过,暗暗地做了一些孩子们喜欢的东西,权当小小补偿吧。

Jim 和两个孩子都特爱肉桂卷。几天不吃就心思思。无独有偶,著名影星李察.基尔(Richard Gere)也是肉桂卷控,曾经在人物周刊(People Magazine)上刊登过他喜欢的玉桂卷做法。我试着照他的方子做了一次,可惜成品甜得发腻,感慨基尔先生口味超重,或者他根本不喑厨艺。呵呵。。。

下面这个方子来自“1001 Cupcakes, Cookies & Other Tempting Treats”,容易操作,绝对零失败。

【面团材料】
自发面粉Self Rising Flour2.5杯(可用中筋面粉2.5杯,泡打粉 3 1/3小勺,盐4/5小勺代替),蛋黄2个,肉桂粉1小勺,砂糖2大勺,软黄油7小勺,牛奶3/4杯, 一小撮盐 (重量转换点此

【肉桂馅料】
肉桂粉两小勺,红糖1/4杯,软黄油1小勺,一大勺砂糖

【糖霜(Icing)材料】
软黄油1小勺,糖粉1杯,融化的奶油乳酪(cream cheese)2小勺, 热开水2小勺,香草精1小勺

【做法】

1. 烤箱预热350F/180度。一20厘米直径的圆型烘烤模具抹上油,垫一层烘烤用牛皮纸(Parchment Paper)。

2. 把自发面粉,盐和肉桂粉混合。软黄油,糖,蛋黄放另一容器混合,搅打至发白,加入牛奶。然后把干面粉加入奶液,混合,搅拌成团。成团后即停止揉搓。

3. 把面团放在一张烘烤用牛皮纸上,擀成25x30cm的长方形面皮。

4. 把肉桂粉两小勺,红糖1/4杯和一大勺白砂糖混合。

5. 在面皮上均匀涂上1小勺黄油。撒上肉桂粉红糖混合物。

6. 把面皮紧紧地卷成一长条。

7. 切成10份。然后均匀放入原型模具。肉桂卷上刷一层牛奶。放入烤箱烤30-35分钟至成品金黄色。

9. 把糖霜材料混合拌匀。等面包晾凉后,淋上糖霜。

【小贴士】

1. 把面皮卷成长条时,注意卷紧。否则成品容易松散。
2. 长条切成小卷时,中间用牙签稍微往上提一下,成品形状会更好看一些。
3. 制作糖霜时热开水最后加,不要一次倒入,几滴几滴地加,糖粉搅得匀即可。
4. 等面包晾凉后,再淋上糖霜。
